Balloon Fiesta

I woke the kids up early this morning and took them down to the church parking lot and watched the hot air balloons that took off this morning. There were some really neat ones! John and Gwyn loved it. They can't wait to go to the Balloon Fiesta Park and watch them take flight up close and personal.

One view of some of the balloons. . .

Trying to stay warm...chilly morning

Smokey the Bear..."Only You. . . "

This one was pretty far away but I still think the pic turned out pretty good...

G's Happy Anniversary Quilt

For G's and J's grandparents (Nana and Papa's) 50th Wedding Anniversary, she made them a quilt. I helped her cut the strips and she sewed and sewed. I helped put the backing together and she quilted it together. She and J picked out the fabric together. They both did an amazing job!

Now they want to make quilts for everyone. Good thing Christmas is around the corner!

The New Mexico State Fair

We took the kids to the New Mexico State Fair. They had a blast! We did all the exhibits and food first. Then later that afternoon we bought arm bands for D, J and G to ride the rides. I can't handle all that anymore. Guess I am getting old! LOL...the only ride that I did ride was the ferris wheel. Smooth and easy! The kids were not afraid of any of the rides. They had a blast riding all the rides. Dad even had to sit down after a few of the rides. We all ate junk food...nachos, pizza, cotton candy, fries, turkey leg and can't forget the best Lemonade ever! Lots of sugar in it though. Uuuggghhh...we even had a deep fried twinkie. Not bad at all! They also had fun watching all the bungee jumpers jump and G even commented that she wanted to do that! She kept asking how old you had to be to do it! I was floored. J loved watching the BMX bike and rollerblading show. The kids were able to get their autographs afterwards.

A view from the top of the ferris wheel (the only ride I rode). . .

A huge sand sculpture that was done at the fair this year. It took 150 tons of sand and 3 people working 10 days to complete.

Striking a pose for me a tthe pretty flowers. Of course, I didn't know that pink trash can was there until I uploaded the pics. Wish I had gotten the whole thing as it was painted like a pig!

Super Chickens!!!

G loves cheese and J doesn't. She had to beg him to take the picture with her. He just kept saying over and over again at how he hated cheese! Too funny...

Bumper cars...the kids tried for Daddy the whole time. However, Daddy kept coming and getting them first!

One of my favorite fair pics. G was on this ride and just happened to come real close to where I was standing and I got this pic. Pretty cool!

The hangglider ride....they loved this one! Rode it several times.

The swings. . .

Joand Daddy took a jousting challenge against each other. This is one of the many funny pics I got of this "challenge". Not sure who one but it was so funny watching them together!

Riding the Tornado....it spins around and around and around. . .makes me sick just watching. They begged Daddy to spin them faster. He obliged. They all got off that ride a little wobbly and quesy!

We had a fun day! We came home full of goodies and exhausted!
