Awana Grand Prix and Bake-off...

This past weekend the kids participated in the Awana Grand Prix and Bake-off at our Church. It was a lot of fun and they did great! They had a lot of fun working with Dad on developing the type of car that they wanted. J decided that he wanted a "race car" and G knew from the beginning that she wanted a "pizza" car, (complete with mushrooms, black olives and pepperoni). For their Bake-off goodies: J took Mint Chocolate Cookies and G took Oatmeal Butterscotch Bars. (Both items were from Pinterest...my new favorite site!)
On your mark.....get set......GGGGOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G came home with 4 Blue ribbons...she came in first place in her age division, was overall Grand Champion, got Best In Show for her car, and first place for her baked goodies. She was pretty excited, if not a little embarrassed due to going up on stage 4 times!
J came home with two ribbons...he came in Second place in his age division, and got a Best Tasting ribbon for his yummy cookies. He and G raced each other for 1st and 2nd place! It was a really close race but G's car zoomed to the finish first!
It was a lot of fun and some of the cars that were made were awesome! There was even a car that looked like a hot dog. It was hilarious!
Love to all,
J and gang
